Who We Are

NHS Lothian is Scotland’s second largest health board and serves a population of approximately 850,000 people living in Edinburgh and the Lothians. We employ around 24,000 staff, and provide a full range of primary, community and acute hospital services.

District Nursing services are delivered locally in the Local Integrated Health and Social Care Partnership areas of EdinburghEast LothianMidlothian and West Lothian.

The Lothian region is a place of exceptional beauty and contrast, from Edinburgh’s historic skyline to the wonderful surrounding countryside and coastline of the Firth of Forth.

Applicants should be NMC Registered District Nurses or interested in becoming a district nurse. You can expect a tailored induction and training package to allow you to become familiar with the systems and services available in NHS Lothian.

There are training opportunities within NHS Lothian to develop your skills in a range of areas including clinical decision making, anticipatory care planning, advanced practice, teaching and supervision and management and leadership.

We are also looking to recruit staff nurses to join district nursing teams who what to pursue a career district nursing.
