Our Medical & Admissions Unit is a busy and dynamic area receiving direct GP referrals 24hrs a day and non-traumatic 999 patients from the north of the city. We offer opportunities to work in an Acute Assessment Area (receiving Trolleys) and 2 admissions wards totalling 51 beds nursing a wide variety of medical specialities ranging from respiratory and cardiology to infectious diseases.
There is a further 50 medial beds split over 2 busy General Medical wards nursing patients with a broad spectrum of illnesses equipping staff with a wide range of skills and experience.
There are opportunities to develop into advanced practice roles such as our nurse led Minor Injuries Unit, Ambulatory Care and Same Day Emergency Care areas all diverting a large number of patients away from the Emergency Department and our own Acute Receiving Unit.
