NHS Lothian Careers Over 100 Careers: Just One Employer

Youth Network

The Youth Network supports NHS Lothian staff to be the voice for young employees in the organisation, and be at the forefront of our drive to create a visionary culture for our young staff.

Who this is for

The network is primarily aimed at young NHS Lothian staff. Still we have no fixed age limit, and we welcome anyone with a positive interest in our ambitions.

Background & aims

NHS Scotland

In response to critical workforce challenges from an ageing workforce and general population, NHS Scotland has set out to be the employer of choice for young people.

NHS Scotland has committed to transformational change to help young people understand the opportunities and career pathways available.

NHS Lothian

In NHS Lothian, we are at the forefront of this work, committing to growing diversity through innovative and bold programmes of work. This will inspire our next generation of staff and successfully sustain the early employment experience of those who join us and help them achieve their career ambitions.

We are extremely proud to be launching the Youth Network as one of our activities to help achieve these aims.

What’s Involved

We seek to create opportunities to make new connections and participate in events. Members can also be part of the Youth Network Action Group, which helps organise and progress the network’s goals. The Workforce Development Team offers support, mentoring, and leadership skills development opportunities for the Youth Network Action Group members. We aim to contribute to organisational / workforce development events…… and have some fun!

Terms of Reference Video

As part of the Youth Network’s development, a Terms of Reference has been created. This document describes the working arrangements for the network. It has important information, including the purpose, vision and mission statement, structure, and opportunities available to members.

Originally a written document, members of the Youth Network Action Group have worked together to create a video, to make the information in this document more accessible.

We would like to thank the Medical Photography Team and all staff members involved in making this happen. We hope you find it interesting!
