NHS Lothian Step Into Healthcare Work Experience Programme
The Step Into Healthcare Programme is NHS Lothian’s work experience pathway for senior school pupils who are interested in exploring careers within healthcare.
Through a series of role-specific programmes, pupils gain an in-depth introduction to different healthcare careers. Each programme combines hands-on activities, workshops, and opportunities to meet NHS professionals working in that field.
We also run Insight Days throughout the year, giving pupils the chance to experience shorter, focused sessions linked to particular healthcare careers.
To be eligible, students must currently live or study within Edinburgh and the Lothians.
By taking part, pupils gain valuable experience, knowledge, and skills to help them make informed choices about their future studies, training, and careers in healthcare.
As an anchor organisation, NHS Lothian is committed to providing a holistic experience that inspires and empowers the next generation of healthcare professionals.
