Neonatal
“I always wanted to do nursing that was long term so you would get to know the families and build a relationship. I like as well that you get the mixture here because you get to do special care, high dependency and intensive care and to see the babies as they progress through to going home.
“I started in the neonatal unit in 2001 and now I don’t just look after the babies in intensive care, I am also in charge of the unit in the role that we call team leader.
“It’s a fantastic unit and there is a good team environment. You’re never on your own, you can always ask. I’ve been here for 12 years and can still bounce ideas off my peers. There’s always support and development opportunities.
“I love Edinburgh, there’s so much to do. You’ve got the outdoors, the museums and galleries and it’s not too big a city, it has a nice feel to it.”
