Our Theatres and Anaesthetics staff are based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, the Western General Hospital, both in the city, and at St John’s Hospital, Livingston, a short journey away.

Neonatal
Our Neonatal services are based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the city, and St John’s Hospital in Livingston, a few miles west of Edinburgh. There are approximately 10,000 births per year in Lothian and 1,000 admissions to neonatal services.
As the regional centre for neonatal intensive care, the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh provides all levels of neonatal care and is also the base for the south east Scotland Neonatal Transport Team. Our Special Care Baby Unit at St John’s Hospital provides both high dependency and special care.

Paediatrics
The Royal Hospital for Sick Children has been providing high quality care for the children of Lothian and beyond for over 150 years. Our new hospital next to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh will open next year – providing a modern healthcare environment to match the quality of care provided by our dedicated teams.
Our intensive care unit cares for children and young people from across Scotland and we are looking for enthusiastic and experienced nurses to join our team.
