This is a nurse led service based at both the Western General Hospital and St Johns Hospital, Livingston. We offer a robust induction programme and competencies relevant to the area. We also offer post graduate opportunities in the form of the clinical decision and assessment course and training for nurses to consent patients for their procedure in some areas.
St Johns Hospital
This is 42 bedded unit providing specialist pre and post operative care for patients receiving orthopaedic, ophthalmology, general, gynaecology and urology surgery but specialise in ENT, maxillofacial, obstetrics and plastic surgery. They also provide a regional service for head and neck surgery.
Western General Hospital
This is a 24 bedded surgery unit providing specialist pre and post operative care to patients undergoing many different types of urology and colorectal surgery and endoscopic procedures.
